Organization: American Legion Post 104/American Legion Auxiliary

About this group: The Sargent American Legion Post 104 has been in existence for over 50 years. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 p.m. at the Legion Hall. The Legion participates in area parades with the color guard and also remember our deceased members with the color guard at funeral services. We support the Nebraska Girls State, Boys State, Junior Law Cadet and display the "Avenue of Flags" for Memorial Day at the Mount Hope Cemetery north of Sargent. The group also takes cookies and other treats to the Veterans Home and the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island.

Just to name a few items scheduled for the celebration are: Adult and Kiddie Parade's, Sand Volleyball, Horseshoe Tournament, Chokecherry Pit Spitting contest, Crowning of Little Miss Chokecherry, Pancake feed, B-B-Q dinner, water fights and More!!!!

The Lion's club has a mobile screening unit which travels to town's in the area and screen's blood pressure, vision, hearing and glaucoma problems.
