and Off Peak Periods: During the winter
season, on peak rates shall apply to any usage between the hours of 8:00 a.m.
and 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday (excluding Memorial Day, Thanksgiving

Power Factor Correction: If a customer fails to
maintain a power factor of 90%, it will be charged for excess kVARs. Excess kVARs will be calculated as the
Maximum kVARs for the billing period minus the product of the Monthly Demand
multiplied by 0.4843 (representing a power factor of 90%). In order to provide the customer an
opportunity to install corrective equipment, a customer will not be billed for
power factor connection for the first three months after notification

WATER AND SEWER RATES
Section 1) The following water rate schedule relative to
water consumption for the City of Sargent is determined as follows:
a.
Residential and Commercial Customers within the City Limits $12.00 per month plus $.90 per
1000 gallons water used
b.
Residential and Commercial Customers outside City Limits $18.00 per month plus $.90 per
1000 gallons water used
c. Residential
and Commercial services with zero water usage shall be billed $5.00 per month
within the City Limits and $7.50 per month outside City Limits
d. Property
owners will not be charged minimum water rates if City Maintenance workers are
given written notice to remove the water meter.
Water service may be resumed upon written application by the User
to the City Utility Office and after payment of the applicable installation
charge is paid in full and as follows:

e. Property
owners that require new services (meters installed after project completion)
will be responsible for the entire cost of installation of required water

Section 2)
The following sewer rate schedule for sewer
usage relative to water consumption for the City of Sargent is determined as
follows:
For the purpose of this section, winter-months
shall mean the months of November, December and January. Occupied shall mean any service having water usage.
a. Residential and Commercial Customers in City Limits
$18.50
per month plus $1.25 per 1000 gallons water used based on a three (3) winter-month
average usage of the occupied property
b. Residential and Commercial Customers Outside City Limits
$26.25 per month plus $1.25 per 1000 gallons water used based on a three (3) winter-month
average usage of the occupied property
c. All
services with sewer connections and water meters installed will be billed the
minimum rate of $18.50/month within the City or $26.25/month outside City
Limits regardless of whether building or property is occupied or there is
actual water usage.
d. Property owners can forego monthly sewer charges if City Maintenance workers are given
written notice to remove the water meter. Water service can be resumed upon written application of the User and
the applicable water meter installation charge is paid in full as listed in
Section 1(d).
e. If
there is no usage during any one of the three (3) winter-months, the average
will be calculated using any three of the previous twelve (12) months with the
lowest actual usage.
TRASH RATES
- $15.34/month (Trash is picked up once each week, twelve months per year)
